The International Trade and Finance program aims to bring up qualified and well-informed professionals who have specialised in international trade and international business. Program graduates speak English at an advanced level as the medium of instruction is English. As well as English, the program offers at least one more foreign language. The International Trade and Finance program in Turkish, on the other hand, is intensively supported by English courses preparing the students for their profession at the international environment.
International Trade and Business program students graduate as individuals well-informed about the latest developments in computers and all other technological areas. Among the general aims of the program are training the students in expressing themselves at ease, taking initiative, and becoming creative. The Program has been designed with the belief that only well-educated and self-confident individuals can be employed as administrators at the global environment and that only qualified administrators can develop companies effectively.
An applicant for admission to one of the undergraduate programs of EMU must satisfy the following requirements:
The applicant must submit a certified copy of Higher Secondary School Certificate or Intermediate Certificate or the equivalent, demonstrating that s/he has satisfactorily graduated from secondary school, and must arrange for other relevant certified documents, such as transcripts or detailed mark sheets, to be released to EMU.
Application to Undergraduate Programs
Applications to the undergraduate programs are accepted twice a year.
Accepted Higher School Certificates for undergraduate programs
High School Diploma, Higher Secondary School Certificate, General Certificates of Secondary Education (GCSE), Higher Secondary Certificate, Upper Secondary /Secondary School/ High School/ Senior High School Leaving Certificate, Testimonial, Secondary Education Certificate, Senior School Certificate, Matriculation Examination Certificate, SAT , WAEC , WASSCE , NECO , JAMB, BACCALAUREATE. Not: Standard XII (Grade 12) should have been completed in the relevant countries.

Documents Required for Undergraduate Application
- Photocopies of Higher Secondary School Certificate and transcript (mark sheets).
- One passport-sized photograph
- Two letters of reference (one must be academic)
- Evidence of financial guarantee (i.e. a letter from a bank) indicating sufficient funds are available for tuition and living expenses.
- Photocopy of the passport (relevant page) or birth certificate
- A copy of proof of English Proficiency if any

Transfer student applications or associate degree holders
Students who are hold an Associate Degree or a National Diploma can apply as a transfer student to the Bachelor Degree programs of the Eastern Mediterranean University.
The requirements for transfer applications to the Eastern Mediterranean University are as follows.
- Transfer applications should be to the 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th semesters. Associate Degree or National Diploma holders generally start from the 5th semester.
- Student should not have been dismissed from a University,
- All required modules should have been completed from previous classes.
- CGPA should be minimum 2.00 out of 4.00 or the equivalent.
- Photocopies of Higher Secondary School Certificate / Diploma and Associate Degree or a National Diploma
- Academic record / mark sheets (transcript)
- Short course descriptions
- Passport copy or birth certificate
- One photograph

English Proficiency Requirement
All applicants for whom English is a second language are required to take EMU English Proficiency Exam, or present documents demonstrating their English proficiency level.
The graduates of International Trade and Business are in great demand in the process of globalization. Turkey is at the beginning of its integration with the rest of the world. In her quest, she needs young people who are in command of few languages and who can easily perform in different cultural settings and countries. The graduates of the Program are valued very highly in the market, because many businesses in the region are planning to cooperate with foreign firms and they need personnel to accomplish this goal.
The program is designed to prepare the students for trade and business environment in different countries. Program graduates can easily pursue employment opportunities in different countries where different cultures exist. School of Applied Disciplines offers International Trade and Business studies in English and Turkish as two separate programs.

Graduates of International Trade and Business Program have a wide spectrum of employment possibilities. Private, public and state institutions who wish to establish economic, political, social and cultural relations at the international level are looking for people with a degree in this Program. Naturally, companies involved in the import-export business or made investments in foreign countries also create employment opportunities for program graduates. The graduates may also start their own firms or work for their family firms bringing all the new knowledge and technology to improve the performance of these firms. Moreover, public offices responsible for international trade and business are additional employment opportunities for the graduates of the Program.
